If you are looking for the ultimate way to connect with downtown Indianapolis, search no further – you’ve found it! Our most popular tour!
This tour will take you through the core of the city as we explore and learn the history of cultural districts such as Mass Ave, the Wholesale District and the Central Canal at White River State Park. Along the way we’ll discover why Indianapolis was selected as the location for the state capitol, where you can see a famous author that now stands 3 stories tall and how a site that once was filled with factories and mills became one of the best downtown recreational areas in the United States!
We’ll also explore the historic neighborhoods of Lockerbie, Chatham Arch and the Old Northside where we’ll find cobblestone streets, public art hidden in alleyways and other great surprises!
We do offer a discounted rate for guests that bring their own bicycle. Non-rented bicycles must be in good working order and ActiveIndy reserves the right to require you to rent a bicycle in the extreme instance that we determine your bicycle is not safe.
This tour covers ~10 miles over the course of 3 hours with numerous stops. The tour route includes a significant portion of time on the Indianapolis Cultural Trail as well as a few quiet city streets and is a perfect tour for families. With enough notice, we can offer children’s bicycles, tag-a-longs or bicycle trailers to accommodate kids of all ages.
